Artist Statement
Maybe it was the city’s current frenzy of development that made me begin to notice the fabric of our structures so acutely. In a constant state of flux, our city is a slowly evolving canvas of forms both arbitrary and measured. This spectrum of architectural measure and organic decay evokes a sense of time and history, of purposes long forgotten or yet to be fulfilled. One can’t help but be reminded of our own transience in this space, and wonder about the marks that we will make on it.
